2017/18 WINTER INDOOR LEAGUE - High School and Middle School CLOSED

Dates and times are listed in the Calendar.

    • An Indoor stick is highly recommended but your regular stick will do.  Note that the bottoms of all sticks will need to be taped to prevent damage to the basketball court.
    • Shin Guards (Required)
    • Mouth Guard (Required)
    • Both right and left hand field hockey gloves are recommended but not required. Indoor FH has your hands on the court often and the pace of play means your hands take a beating!

    • Water Bottle - It is very important to hydrate!

Indoor FH equipment can be found on the Harrow, Dita and Longstreth websites.

    Summer League

For players entering 6th-8th and 9th-12th grade

    Registration will open Spring 2018

Location: Kent Denver School Deso and/or Horn Field

There will be separate league play at the High School and Middle School levels. Minimum age is entering 6th grade. This is not a beginner league, so players should have some experience with the rules and have fundamental stick skills (beginners should complete at least one instructional camp before attempting league play). The league will have umpires who will be honing their expertise for the upcoming Middle and High School seasons.

Players MUST have proper field hockey gear. Mouth guards and shin guards - no exceptions! Goggles are recommended in preparation for the upcoming school season. As with any DFHC program, players must also

    1. Have a current USAFH membership
    2. Read and agree to DFHC's Code of Conduct and Waiver forms

    Middle School Fall Interscholastic Team

2018 registration will open in May

This Program is for 6th-8th graders who attend a middle school without a field hockey program - Head Coach Meghan Marshall.

The DFHC Middle School team competes against other middle school teams in the area during the fall season.

    • $245 participation fee (includes team jersey).
    • Season runs late August through October.
    • Two practices a week at Kent Upper Fields
    • 10 or more games throughout the season.
    • Two play days in Colorado Springs
    • Team competes against local middle schools that have field hockey programs.

    Middle School Team Members:

    1. Make sure you have a current USAFH membership
    2. Read DFHC's Code of Conduct and Waiver form

    Equipment Requirements for team members

For practices: footwear appropriate for grass fields, field hockey shin guards (not soccer shin guards – they are too small and will not be permitted by the officials), a mouth guard, and a stick. Goggles are not required until high school and are up to the discretion of players and parents at the middle school level. We recommend players have goggles so that they are accustomed to wearing them when it becomes mandatory in high school.

    • For games: The girls will need all of the things listed for practices and will be provided a team reversible jersey (which they can keep) and will need to have a black skort (you can find these at any sporting goods store), a pair of black field hockey socks and a pair of white field hockey socks, without stripes

The following is a list of resources for field hockey equipment: Harrow

Sports (located in Denver), Dita Field Hockey (a major field hockey equipment company located in Colorado Springs), and Longstreth Field Hockey.

The Denver Field Hockey Club normally participates in 2 National travel tournaments a year. Additional national tournaments may be added. Travel teams are chosen from our High Performance members.

Upcoming Tournaments are: Disney Field Hockey Showcase AND NFHCA Winter Escape Top Recruit
